T.K.T Family Session... aka I love my job

Did I tell you I love my job? No, I don't need sleep, no I don't need weekends...

Ok, now seriously... It's on days like these when I know that I'll be capturing life in its most beautiful form for posterity, that I JUST KNOW I love what I do...

Tracy and Ken were referred to me by some very happy past clients (Lesia & Yuri, thank you!). The plan was to way for the cherry blossoms to come out, but this spring is JUST TAKING SO LONG to arrive!

So, since Trinity had turned one in early May, we decided to wait no more, and spent an hour playing outside (with some very expensive camera equipment - LOL)...

Here she is, ALWAYS happy!

Yummy Dandelions...

This is my absolute favorite shot!

Also this one...

A more formal take on a GORGEOUS family!

Beautiful eyes...

Oh and give me toes, grass and jeans ANYDAY!

She's making a run for me! And my gear!

Thank you Tracy, Ken and Trinity!

Stay tuned for your slideshow...

We're in the News!

We at ecoLuxe were thrilled when we got a call from Judy Owen - a freelance writer - asking to interview us for the Winnipeg Free Press.

They wanted to do an article on Green Weddings pointing out that this is the new trend happening accross the country. Each of us had a chance to talk to Judy and tell her a little about our goals for a “greener” earth, starting with Greener Weddings, Greener Corporate Parties, Birthday Parties, you name it!

We got two full pages and a nice large image! Read it here!

I do! - Anita & Shawn - May 10, 2008

I'm still going through the hundreds of images that I took on this beautiful, small and quaint wedding of Anita & Shawn's at Tavern In the Park. It's nice to kick off the spring/summer season with a laid back couple like this one...

Thank You guys for asking me to capture your story! Have a wonderful time in Croatia!

Springing...

I swear I don't dress them! Believe me! They dress themselves! The love matching stuff! I just sit back and have a good chuckle at how girly they are!

So, a couple of days ago I found this! They were just sitting around on the driveway, on their matching lawn chairs, laughing away at something silly - which is usually the case... when they realized that the dog (Chewy) needed a place to sit too. So they got out the third chair usually reserved for their cousin - who is like a sister to them - and put the dog on it.

Of course once they saw the camera they were just hammin' it up. They are NOT camera shy and they know EXACTLY how to work it.

Anywho... That's my life. Everyday!

You can tell I'm just starting the photoshoot here, they're nice and normal...

Here the "show-off" starts showing off...

Full blown show off here...

Then her sister joins in...

The poor dog is so used to this by now...

And the last pose!

Stay tuned for eco-tips next friday. I was going to do it this friday but I don't want to bombard you with post after post about that...

Leave me a comment... You can run but you can't hide... I know you're here, I can see the counts going up everyday, so why not sign in?

Thanks!

eco tip #1 - Switch to Cloth Napkins!

Paper Napkins account for a huge amount of waste in North America and Worldwide since 100% of Paper Napkins are NOT recycled.

When switching from paper to cloth, buy napkins in different colours and assign one colour to each family member to hang on to for a week (barring any spaghetti sauce accidents) so you don't have a huge increase in the laundry load! By doing this not only do you save a lot of trees and lower your carbon footprint, but you might linger at the table a little longer and enjoy this old fashioned formal table setting feeling...

You can also use them as a microphone???

Stay tuned for more tips next friday!

Joshua!!!

One of the best things about my job is the fact that I get to make a relationship with my clients and I get to see them over and over in the course of time...

It's the case with Cynthia and Justin, who got married in 2005, then moved to Montreal, then back again! They brought this cute little munchkin in for a session a couple of days ago and it was a hoot photographing this busy little guy! He just wanted to go and go and go!

In this shot we had to make sure he wasn't going to fall off the edge:

We soon discovered what REALLY made him happy!

Awww

This one is classic.... Dirt on his mouth and reaching for my camera!

Thanks for coming guys, stay tuned for the slideshow!
